We chose to use USA-made organic soy wax because it is biodegradable, renewable and clean burning. :) Our candles are non-toxic, vegan, Kosher and sustainable. We never use artificial fragrances, additives or mixing agents. We are dedicated to combining the highest quality materials to ensure a healthy, clean and beautiful environment for your home.
Minimum burn time: Dependent on the environment & different for each candle. Make sure that you are letting the surface of the candle melt from the center (around the wick) all the way out to the edges of the jar before extinguishing the flame especially the first time you light it. The first burn matters! (Otherwise "tunneling" can happen.)
Maximum burn time: 4 hours.
Discontinue burning a candle when 2 inches of wax remains (½ inch if a container candle or jar candle).
NOTE: Never leave a candle that has been lit, unattended. :)
The 7oz, 8oz & 10oz candles will last for around 30-40+ hours, the 2oz will last around 5-10+hrs and our 4oz minis will last for around 15-20+hrs.
Always make sure that you are paying attention to how large the candle wax "melt pool" gets. Never let the candle wax melt pool get too deep because it could become very hot and compromise the glass jar.
Never burn any candles for more than 4 hours at a time. :)
Using a wick dipper to gently dip the wick into the wax and pull the wick back out is the recommended way to extinguish your candle to avoid smoke.
Blowing out your candle or using a candle snuffer to extinguish your candle will also work.
Please no not extinguish your candle by covering the flame with the lid. It will leave a black mark on the wooden lid and it is a fire hazard. Thank you :)
This is an issue called "tunneling". Tunneling occurs when only a small portion of the wax surrounding the wick melts while the candle is lit. Instead of evenly melting across the wax's surface, it will look like the flame is "tunneling" leaving a vertical tunnel in the center the candle. Tunneling happens when you don't burn your candle for long enough or more than 4 hours at a time. One way to fix a tunneling candle is to melt the surface of the candle with a hair dryer. First extinguish the flame, if lit. Then use a hair dryer to carefully melt the wax to the edge of the container. Use a low setting and hold the hair dryer far enough away to avoid spattering any wax. Another way to fix the issue is to wrap tin foil around the top of the candle leaving the wick exposed white lit, and letting is simply burn and the foil will trap the heat on the outer sides that didn't melt. We use all-natural essential oils so the "scent throw" will never be overwhelming. All of our essential oils are undiluted therapeutic grade and always from trusted highly regarded quality sources. Essential oil candles naturally have a lighter aroma and will always be more subtle than synthetic fragrance oils because of their natural extraction process. We do not use toxic chemical additives found in many commercial candle brands so our candles do not have a high intensity scent throw. We recommend using multiple candles or one of our larger 10oz candles if using in a larger space or a room with high ceilings.
If your candle will not light, it is likely that the wick has been cut too short, or your wick has too much wax on it. Dig out wax around your wick and re-light :)
*Always make sure to trim your wicks to ensure a clean burning experience and to prevent soot buildup or "mushrooming" of the wick.*
Pro tip for lighting wooden wicks: Be patient when lighting the wooden wicks because they take more time to catch fire than standard cotton wicks.
There is always a possibility that your candle order could arrive slightly melted in warmer months. Unfortunately, we have no control over a package once it is on its way to you. However, the best way to avoid a melted candle is to just bring your candle order inside asap once you receive notification that it has been delivered! :)
There may be some color variation and imperfections in our all-natural candles because they are free of dyes, additives or mixing agents. The candles with vanilla, cedarwood, rose, or citrus may have the most noticeable imperfections due to these essential oils having a higher vanillin content which, in turn, causes a yellow or brown color in some places throughout the candle. A few of our candles may have a slight blue tint. Our Risen blend is has blue tansy essential oil and our Holy Ground blend has desert sage essential oil which, when naturally distilled, are a beautiful blue color! We mix our oils into the wax for a few minutes at a time at a specific and intentionally high temperature insuring the oils are perfectly infused into the wax, pour the wax into their jars, and then as the wax hardens, the oils settle at times. Soy wax is a natural organic compound and in-turn, unpredictable. Using all natural ingredients means that there is nothing keeping this natural and harmless process from happening. If you can see the darker colors of the essential oils through the jar, that is why. All of our candles are poured in such small batches that these variations may be more common. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you so much for trusting Anointed Candle Co. to provide non-toxic, natural products to bring into your home!!
